PC Use - Course Strategy An important word to Businesses Many companies undergoing technology enhancements often find the last thing that’s thought about is training of their people. Much effort and resource is placed in enabling new computer systems or applications, often at the expense of suitable training for staff who are already busy in their “day” jobs, which is of course, key to business productivity and profit. Time and again, the result is frustrated people, who find using new systems difficult due to a lack of foundation training on the PC environment, even though they may have SOP’s on the particular “business system” or “business application” they are now required to use. Often, this lack of foundation training causes problems with the business application concerned because of misunderstandings in the way the PC and it’s environment operates. The frustration of the user also reduces productivity in other areas of their work. Support call volumes may also be high due to system or user account lock-outs, or user mis-operation of the PC. This again has an impact on productivity, since until the problem is solved, access to the business application may be barred to other users of a shared PC (typical in a production environment). Many companies realise too late that suitable
training early on pays handsome dividends. Training - but at what price? There are many basic PC training courses available, usually with set content, and requiring people to be off-site for a period of time - usually for a minimum of one day. These courses do not necessarily reflect the environment the users will be faced with on their return to work. And the cost (even for a single days training) can be expensive. So the temptation is to train a handful of people, expecting them to disseminate their knowledge to their work colleagues on their return. In our experience, this approach is flawed for a whole host of reasons, such as:
Additionally, for much of the time, a full day’s
training is not required, meaning lost productivity, not to
mention travelling expenses, and refreshments and accommodation which
may or may not be included in any “classroom” based course. That’s where Bee Trained come into our own We realise the importance of giving people enough training to have a good foundation, whilst at the same time balancing the need for your business to continue as normally as possible. That’s why we’ve come up with a truly unique and extremely cost effective solution. Here’s how it works:
In other words, we train your people using your environment. Because of the method of delivery, and because we realise you don’t want the additional expense of employing “cover” for staff being trained, we recommend that the training takes place in small groups (no more than 4 at a time). This also gives us time to make the training personal - almost on a one-to-one basis maximising an individuals learning ability. Due to the size of the groups, if individuals have specific questions or want to learn more advanced features (if for example they are more familiar with a given application than their colleagues), then this can also be accommodated. Because of this training methodology, we don’t necessarily need a special room, or a special training environment set up. We can use one of your PC’s at a suitable desk where the training will have minimal impact on those around. Since the training takes place in a short space of time (typically 2 or 3 hours, depending on content), many people can be trained within a day. Our attendance times are as flexible as you need them to be. In other words, we can cover shift patterns! All this means we can provide bespoke training to your people in your environment, and on the actual systems they will be using. Because of this, your costs are reduced, and non productive time kept to a minimum. Bee Trained are professionally trained in the art or presenting and training, and at the same time are experts in the PC environment, Microsoft Windows, and many Microsoft applications. We are friendly, flexible, and respectable. We will be happy to come and discuss your needs. Feel free to contact us.
